General Information on Kharkivstandartmetrologiya State-Owned Enterprise
On October 8, 1901, thanks to efforts of D.I. Mendelyeev, the first Ukrainian verification chamber was established in Kharkiv, which gave birth to the State Metrological Service of Ukraine. This day also begins history of Kharkiv Regional Scientific and Production Center of Standardization, Metrology and Certification (Kharkivstandartmetrologiya State-Owned Enterprise).
Later, on August 30, 1922, in order to ensure measurement uniformity and coordination of activities of Ukrainian verification chambers the Central Ukrainian Board of Weights and Measures was formed on the basis of the verification chamber.
In 1931 the Central Ukrainian Board of Weights and Measures was transformed into the Ukrainian Standardization Committee.
At the present time Kharkivstandartmetrologiya State-Owned Enterprise is one of the major centers in the structure of DerzhSpozhyvStandart of Ukraine.
Quality management system (Certificate of Approval No. UA2.006.02274-07 dated 26.02.2007) applied by Kharkivstandartmetrologiya SE and its corporate culture allow to constantly maintain conditions ensuring that customer satisfaction is the key factor for each employee of the Center.
Primary activities of Kharkivstandartmetrologiya SE:
- Standardization;
- Metrology;
- Certification of products, services, management systems;
- Various consulting services.
Kharkivstandartmetrologiya SE has in its disposal:
- Organizational structure which ensures independency of Kharkivstandartmetrologiya SE;
- Technical resources including over 4000 basic and working reference standards;
- State-of-the-art scientific base, updated collection of reference and standard documents counting over 27 thousand volumes;
- Collection of over 6 thousand specifications provided with computerized data retrieval and storage system;
- Skilled and duly qualified staff;
- system of agreements concluded with other institutions, regional centers of DerzhSpozhyvStandart of Ukraine and test laboratories.
Currently Kharkivstandartmetrologiya SE consists of 20 divisions which include:
8 metrological divisions which provide verification, calibration and metrological certification of measuring instruments, measurements of the following parameters of various physical objects:
- geometrical;
- mechanical;
- heat engineering parameters;
- electrical and magnetic;
- physical and chemical;
- radiotechnical;
- acoustic;
- optical.
5 certification divisions;
2 divisions providing certification testing for:
- electric equipment, domestic electric devices and machinery (Certificate of Authorization No. 2Í819 dated 04.02.2009);
- food and agriculture products (Certificate of Authorization No. 2Í545 dated 03.02.2009).
Kharkivstandartmetrologiya SE is a certification authority for:
- products and services (License No. UA.Ð.007 dated 01.04.2008);
- management systems (License No. UA.ÌQ.003 dated 11.06.2007).
